Join your fellow Solos for a fun-packed couple of days in Liverpool. Take in the sights of historic Liverpool along with a Beatles tour, where musical magic is relived on an atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Fab Four.
After checking in at our hotel this afternoon, we enjoy a welcome drink with other Solos guests this evening before dinner in the hotel restaurant.
After a leisurely breakfast we will meet our walking guide who will take us on an enlightening tour of Liverpool. This walk will take in the magnificent waterfront (a World Heritage Site), the Albert Dock and the Business District, which is where you will find the Town Hall and hear about the early history of Liverpool. We will also visit both of Liverpool’s magnificent Cathedrals, both of which are along the street that joins the two together – Hope Street!
After our guided tour, we have some free time to explore further. Once back at the hotel, we get together for dinner in the hotel restaurant.
The Fab Four are still inextricably linked to Liverpool and no visit to the city can ever be fully complete without a guided Beatles Tour. After breakfast, we will meet our coach and guide who takes us into the suburbs of Liverpool to visit their homes and the place where they grew up and made famous by their songs, like Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. After hearing about the history of the club where they played on almost 300 occasions, the tour will finish with a visit to the Cavern Club, one of the most famous clubs in the world!

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £10. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
