About the trip

New for 2025, we are delighted to introduce Grindelwald to the Solos ski portfolio. Join a ready-made group of solo travellers for a week in the Jungrau ski region, offering access to three resorts – Grindelwald, Wengen & Mürren.  The terrain includes wide, well-groomed slopes, challenging off-piste areas, and scenic runs, many of which offer panoramic views of the iconic Eiger north face and other stunning alpine landscapes. A hub for winter sports, Grindelwald is the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and Swiss charm for our solo skiers & snowboarders.

Grindelwald Ski

On the slopes

Enjoying a varied week on the slopes is easy in the Jungrau ski region, with is mix of modern lifts and historic railways to transport you across the resorts. The Jungfrau resorts provide a comprehensive and varied skiing experience, with their blend of spacious beginner slopes, challenging intermediate runs, and demanding advanced terrain. For beginners and intermediate skiers, the Grindelwald-First ski area is ideal, with its wide, gentle slopes. For advanced skiers, the Lauberhorn World Cup downhill in the Kleine Scheidgg resort is a must. It is one of the longest and most challenging runs on the World Cup circuit, featuring steep sections and high speeds.

Grindelwald Village

Grindelwald, renowned for its breathtaking scenery and vibrant winter atmosphere, is the perfect base for a solo group ski holiday. The traditional alpine village, with its charming chalet buildings, is nestled in the valley surrounded by impressive peaks. Dining options abound both in the village and on the mountain, complemented by a variety of après ski bars and venues perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes.

Almost 130 years’ old, the Derby Swiss Quality Hotel is known for its warm hospitality, excellent service, and convenient location in the centre of Grindelwald.

Facilities Include

The hotel facilities include a sauna to warm you through after a day in the snow.  The hotel also offers a four-course evening meal in the Derbystube restaurant, with a pub and fondue menu as other dining options. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout.
