Arriving at Sofia airport, we meet up with our local tour guide. We transfer to the Rhodope mountains above the famous ski resort Pamporovo. Our accommodation is a splendid, comfortable four-star hotel in the woods.
We begin the day with a snowshoe trek from our hotel. Our path will take us through the centuries old pine forests, almost reaching the summit point of Snejanka peak. Here, from the famous Orpheus Rocks, we enjoy one of the most stunning views. The trail of our round tour follows a beautiful valley until it comes back to the Pamporovo ski resort and one of the nearby lakes.
We will have lunch at a local restaurant, only 10 minutes away.
In the afternoon, we have the opportunity to enjoy the hotel spa.
Dinner at the hotel.

Today is a day to witness the culture and traditions of the region. We then enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant near Shiroka Luka.
Next, we head towards the city of Smolyan – the capital of the Western Rhodopes. Here we visit one of the oldest houses, where we will learn more about the handcrafts of the area. We will have some free time in Smolyan centre, returning to the hotel late afternoon.
After breakfast, it’s time for another mountain activity. We head back to the heart of the
Pamporovo ski resort, where our host will be waiting for us with the Snowmobiles. An instructor will give us full brief about these fun vehicles, followed by an incredible two hour ride through the snow to some of the highest places in the Rhodopes.
We then return back to Pamporovo for lunch in a restaurant before returning by vehicle back to our hotel.
In the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to
ride dog sledges (optional, not included).
This morning our transfer (1 hour) will take us to one of the most breathtaking places in Bulgaria – the Trigrad Gorge. Here, the nature has formed an amazing canyon with more than 700 feet high vertical cliffs on both sides, just 120 feet apart. We visit the famous Devil’s Throat Cave, where we witness the largest underground waterfall in the Balkan peninsula. The place is connected to the legend about Orpheus and Euridice.
We then put our snowshoes back on for one of the most amazing winter wonderland adventures – the walk to Yagodina. Lunch will be a picnic. In the afternoon, we relax in the open-air hot thermal swimming pools of Devin.

Bulgarian Lev
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of 40 Bulgarian Lev (equivalent to €20) per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
On an activity holiday, dress is generally very informal, the emphasis being on comfort and warmth. We recommend that you pack winter waterproof jacket, gloves and hat. Thermal or silk underwear is recommended. Cotton/cotton mix roll necks, T-shirts or sweat shirts; several thin layers are better than one thick layer. Moon boots or waterproof walking shoes are a “must”. Casual clothes are ideal for the evenings. Don’t forget your swimwear!
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part in your chosen activity holiday. If you are unsure as to whether the activities are within your capabilities, please contact the office to discuss this matter, thus making sure you appreciate the terrain that you will be walking.
Itinerary is subject to change according to traffic, weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances beyond control.
