Join Solos as we head to the Balearic Island of Mallorca, an ideal destination for an active holiday, offering a wide range of outdoor activities in stunning landscapes, from its rugged coastline to its mountainous interior. We explore the crystal-clear waters while paddle boarding and kayaking, and on land walk Sóller to Deia path, which provides stunning views over the island and the Mediterranean Sea and cycle along the coast from Santa Ponsa.
Today we arrive into Mallorca and transfer to Santa Ponsa.
This morning we will transfer to the port of Santa Ponsa to meet our guide for a paddle board tour. Paddle boarding is a great way to explore the waters of the Balearic Sea, allowing us to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the water. Hoping weather and sea conditions are on our side, we visit the Malgrat Islands – a nature reserve and a small group of islands that we can paddle around.
This afternoon we return to Santa Ponsa.
We begin the day with breakfast before heading to the outskirts of Deiá. Today’s beautiful walk begins on the outside of the village, walking to the beautiful old traditional town of Soller. On this walk, we witness some fabulous viewpoints of the coast and Soller itself.
We also enjoy some free time in Soller, which sits in the heart of the ‘valley of oranges’. The main square – Plaza de la Constitución – is Soller’s beating heart, which is lined with numerous bars and cafés. We board a wooden train, known locally as the ‘Orange Express’, for a scenic journey down to Palma.
We spend today however we wish. We can kick back and relax at the hotel, making use of its facilities, such as its pools, bars or wellness and spa area. The sandy beach of Santa Ponsa is a short walk away, or we can explore the city of Palma, known as the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean’, which is 20km away and is perfect for a day trip. The capital of the island boasts the huge Santa María Cathedral, a Gothic landmark from the 13th-century which overlooks the Bay of Palma.
This morning we head to Cala San Vicente – a small, tranquil resort village located on the northern coast of Mallorca, near the town of Pollença. It’s known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic mountainous backdrop, making it a favourite spot for visitors seeking a peaceful, natural setting. This morning we will kayak on these waters and explore the coastline on a tour with a guide.
Later that day we will then return to Santa Ponsa.
Today we head to Pollença to begin our cycling tour, a charming town in the northern part of Mallorca, known for its rich history, picturesque streets, and proximity to beautiful natural landscapes. We head out of Pollença towards Cap de Formentor, the northernmost tip of the island on the Formentor Peninsula. Famed for its rugged cliffs, breathtaking views, and iconic lighthouse, Cap de Formentor is one of the most stunning and dramatic locations in Mallorca. We use e-bikes for this part of the tour.
Today we have another day at leisure. The choice is ours on how we wish to spend it, either relaxing, exploring the local area further or we can repeat any of the activities we may have already enjoyed.
Today we enjoy our final breakfast at the hotel, before transferring to the airport for our flight home.
Close to the heart of Santa Ponsa, the Zafiro Rey Don Jaime is the perfect location for our active trip. Boasting an adults-only sky pool on the rooftop, it offers spectacular views and breathtaking sunsets.
The hotel has two bars, including a lounge bar and a pool bar serving a range of local and international drinks. Two restaurants, a buffet and an à la carte restaurant. There are two outdoor pools, including the one adult only pool, and an indoor pool.
Our rooms are double room for single use with balcony and have air conditioning, safe, kettle, TV and a fridge.
From Palma de Mallorca Airport to Santa Ponsa, it is roughly 25 minutes depending on traffic.
Please note:
WhatsApp Group: Just before the start of your trip, you will be sent an invite to the WhatsApp group which will put you in touch with your fellow Solos travellers and Tour Leader prior to your departure day. By choosing to join, you’re consenting to share your contact details with other members of your group. However, if you prefer not to join, that’s completely fine, and you can meet the group on your first day instead. Please note, if you have not received an email within 24 hours of departure, we recommend you check your email junk folder.
On an activity holiday, dress is generally very informal, the emphasis being on comfort and warmth. We suggest comfortable walking shoes, swim wear and something you find comfortable to cycle in for the activity days. For dinners in the hotel, the dress is smart casual.
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €20.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate percentage on.
