Tanzania is best known for the annual wildebeest migration which sees one million large mammals follow the rains in a continual circle. However, this happens in a very small area of this huge country, with the Selous and little known southern circuit, a wild area roughly the size of Belgium, taking up only a small portion of Tanzania. The sheer scale of the wilderness in this part of the world slowly becomes evident should you choose to explore further.
Animals, wildlife and outback scenery are far from all that Tanzania has to offer. Zanzibar, the spice island, is an idyllic hideaway, far from the rigours of modern city life. Relax on white sandy beaches under the shade of palm fronds or dabble your toes in the warm Indian Ocean waters, or simply snorkel or dive at some of the clearest and best reef spots anywhere on the planet; the choice is yours.
