At the very centre of Europe, Hungary has many interesting and unexpected highlights. One of these being that Hungary has 22 wine regions, with such a wide choice there is sure to be a vintage or two that takes your fancy. Add to that 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Necropolis of Pecs and the Old Village of Holloko, an excellently preserved village showing rural life before the agricultural revolution.
Not forgetting the biggest draw to Hungary, the beautiful capital city Budapest. Take a stroll down the elegant Andrassy Avenue where the Opera, Academy of Fine Arts, Heroes’ Square and a number of spectacular statues can be found. For more sightseeing, sail down the Danube, passing the impressive Hungarian Parliament Building and no trip would be complete without a visit to Castle hill and the Citadel to see the statue of Liberty or the iconic buildings of the Fishermen's Bastion and Matthias Church. If all the sightseeing gets a little much, drop by one of the many cafes or treat yourself in one of the many thermal spa’s dotted around the city.
