Another new addition is our Discover Solos Weekends which
offers an ideal introduction to Solos for those who have not
travelled with us before, although frequent Solos travellers

turn to our social calendars. Our special Christmas and

Our Dance Weekends have been a real hit over the last
year, so in addition to the Learn to Ballroom weekends
we have also added The Next Step to help you develop
your ballroom skills plus back by demand, we have our
Ceroc weekends. Whether or not you unearth a hidden
talent you will at least have a giggle in the process!
Our Dinner Dances and Black Tie Balls both start
with a glass of something refreshing at a welcome
reception before our three-course dinner where the
gentlemen move tables between each course. Laughter
and chatting flow easily before dancing to a disco
commences, taking us through into the early hours.
These popular social events are an ideal opportunity
to mix and mingle with fellow Solos guests. Join us for
just the dinner dance or ball, or stay overnight and take
advantage of the hotel leisure facilities with included
breakfast.

2. If you are a single traveller but do not wish to cruise in
a Solos group, or do you wish to go on a different date
to the ones published or on a different itinerary or ship
we are happy to try and arrange a tailor-made cruise
just for you. We work closely with many of the major
cruise companies and have access to a huge range of
itineraries.
A Solos activity break gives you the chance to take part in
a diverse selection of outdoor sports, soft adventures or
to be creative.
Our choices for winter have increased with a week of
activities in the Wild Taiga region which includes
cross-country skiing and snow shoe trekking in addition
to our Wintry Slovenia and Magical Lapland. Other new
adventures include Wet ‘n’ Wild Wales, an action packed
weekend of climbing, abseiling, scrambling and trekking,
and a week of Summer Fun in Finland which includes
canoeing, quad biking and Nordic walking.
Our North Italy Active and Turkey Multi-Activity which
continue to be popular, have been joined by Dalmatia
Active and North Greece Active, and formerly in our Sun
section we have our Active Sun in Halkidiki back for a
second year joined by a new option in Turkey, Adakoy.
Both of these beach clubs offer a wealth of water and
land based activities.
Creative & Active in Devon is our new short break on the
edge of Dartmoor at a venue that offers a multitude of
arts, craft, sport and leisure activities plus Cyprus Arts
& Activity introduces us to an eclectic mix of activities
and crafts. Following the success of Yoga and Walking in
May 2012 we are pleased to offer this again for 2 dates
in 2013. Whether you have been inspired by the Tour de
France, the Olympics or simply want to enjoy your hobby
on holiday we have introduced Cycling in Malta & Gozo
and Cycling in Zakynthos.
Walks - For those activity weeks that include walking we
have different levels so you can pick the one that suits
you.
Cycling - For this activity we ask that you please ensure
you can ride a bike with multiple gears to a proficient
standard.
From the Lake District to the Himalayas, we offer a wide range of walks, treks and rambles across the UK and Worldwide at different grades.
New for 2013 we have the North Yorkshire Moors, Swiss Mountains, Dalmatian Riviera, Umbria & Marche, Lycian
Rambling and Cape Verde.
Easy to Medium: The walks vary in length from an average of 7km to 12km (4.3-7.4 miles), mostly on good paths and occasionally rough underfoot.
Medium: The walks average 13km (8 miles) or more, occasionally over rugged terrain. There will be significant ascents and descents, and you should have
rambled before.
Medium to Difficult: The walks may vary in length greatly, but importantly the going may be rough underfoot, in often mountainous terrain, and there will be significant ascents and descents, often at high altitude.
Please note that some walks may become more challenging as a result of inclement weather.

Improver
These weeks are for anyone who knows the basics well enough to play in doubles matches. They may sometimes include coaching, if this is the case it will be
indicated on the individual destination page.
Intermediate to Advanced
These tennis weeks are designed for competent players of intermediate level and above, who are also able to play in doubles matches.
For 2013 we have 2 new destinations for tennis. Enjoy the invigorating mountain air and freshness in the Italian Dolomites and Letoonia in Turkey is located on a private peninsula outside Fethiye.
Skiing is the ultimate group activity, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned snow-lover, we guarantee a Solos ski holiday will be one to remember.
New in this brochure we have added Borovets in Bulgaria, Arinsal in Andorra and increased the duration of our Whistler trip in April from 9 days to 11 days.
Easy runs are green and blue, intermediate are red and difficult are black. However, in order to help you select the very best ski holiday for you, we recommend our holidays by level of difficulty:
All Skiers
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, this category is open to everyone. We have used resorts with a variety of runs and slopes that cater for all levels of ability.
Beginners & Intermediates
If you are a first-time skier then choose one of these resorts, which have been selected for their ski schools, confidence-boosting nursery slopes and gentle green and blue runs. Intermediates will also relish developing skills on the good range of red runs on offer. There may also be a small selection of black runs available, if you fancy the challenge.
Intermediates & Advanced
If you are a confident or advanced skier, then these holidays are designed for you. Whizz down a variety of red runs as well as a selection of exciting short or narrow black runs. Mogul fields may also be present, enabling you to hone your tight parallel turns to perfection.
Our golf programme offers a variety of opportunities
to learn, improve or play golf in a fun and friendly
atmosphere! Choose from a short break in the UK or one
of our itineraries in Europe or beyond.
Learn to Play
Perfect for beginners who have always fancied having
a go at golf, or for improvers who wish to tidy up their
swing.
Handicap Players
Where handicap certificates are required, the maximum
handicap is 36 for ladies and 28 for gentlemen.
Non-Handicap Players
Where handicap certificates are not required, these
trips are for players who have not yet achieved an
official handicap, or for handicap players who wish to
enjoy a relaxing golf break (not suitable for complete
beginners).
Festivals
Our festival weeks combine enjoyable, team
competitions, with 2 individual Stablefords, to find our
overall ladies’ and gents’ champions of the week.
What is Solos for One?
Separate to our Solos group departures, we have a selection of holidays for people wishing to take time out by themselves. Choose from our hand-picked singles-friendly resorts, hotels or on escorted tours, instead of holidaying within a Solos group.
Please note: there is no guarantee how many other single travellers, Solos or otherwise, will be on any of these holidays and consequently there is no Solos Tour Leader either.
