Famed for being a relaxing beach destination, there is much more to the beautiful island of Cyprus than sun and sea if you wish to find it! Nature fans and hikers will appreciate the Troodos Mountains to the west of the island. The slopes are forest covered, dotted with villages, Byzantine frescoed churches and walking paths make the mountains the perfect escape from the heat of the summer. If you are looking for something a little less strenuous, the cities of Larnaca and Limassol are an eclectic mix of historical sites, modern shops and nightlife.
